Titanium Investments Real Estate Journey

My husband and I have been married for over 20 years, and for most of those years we have talked about investing in real estate. “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could own some rental property” we would often discuss, but the conversation never went beyond talk. Fast forward several decades (that happened in the blink of an eye, I might add) and we find ourselves saying “Just think if we had kept our first home, rented it out, paid it off and had that monthly cash flow, wouldn't that be great?” Again with the talk.

What finally changed that talk into action was a series of unexpected job changes that left me feeling empty and uncertain about the future at the company I had dedicated nearly 15 years of my career to. I’m a very ‘go-with-the-flow’ kinda person, but being moved into a job that I had no desire to do was somewhat crushing. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to have a job (others in my same position weren’t as fortunate), but nonetheless, this position was not what I had envisioned for my future at this company.

I realized at that point in time that I needed to be more in control of my financial future, not just for my own personal happiness but for the prosperity of my family. I started spending the little bits of free time that I had (which doesn’t amount to much with a full time job, husband and three kids), reading (I’m not talking about Facebook, people), listening and exploring new opportunities. Since I’ve always had an interest in real estate, I was naturally drawn to that and my searching opened up a whole new world of information to explore, absorb and comprehend.

And so the journey began. Within eight months of selecting real estate as my “side hustle”, we had purchased a four-plex, six months after that we purchased a rental house and then a year later two more four-plexes.

After owning and maintaining those properties for several years our focus shifted from using real estate as a back-up plan to using it as a tool for achieving financial freedom. That line of thinking launched our new brand, Titanium Investments. Now we’re acquiring multifamily properties to accelerate our growth so we can have the time freedom that many people only dream about.

It’s been real, to say the least, with many challenging moments and rewarding moments. Times of laughter, frustration and tears. But this is our journey and we know it’s just beginning.
